yellow house .jpg
Watercolour (now showing at The Gates Gallery $650)
This house is located at the end of Old Portage Road in Carrying Place(c.1812). This road is the oldest in Ontario. The house dates back to pioneer days, built by Captain Robert Young. Apparently it still has a bullet hole in a kitchen cupboard from a nearby skirmish back in the 1800's. Fort Kente used to be located right across from it. Lots of history there.
